Seaside is excited to offer interactive class for students of various grade levels beginning the second week of January and ending in mid-June. Classes will take a one week Spring Break.

Foundational Learning

This class focuses on phonemic awareness, phonics, math, reading strategies, and comprehension. Throughout the nineteen weeks students enjoy hands on, project based learning, in a small group setting. The small group activities are planned and taught by fully credentialed teachers.

Recommended for students in TK, Kinder, and 1st grade

Early Elementary

We offer three courses at this level focusing on each of the core academic subjects math, reading, and writing. Throughout the nineteen weeks students enjoy hands on, project based learning, in a small group setting. Students are welcome to sign up for one course or any combination of the three.

Recommended for students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade.

Elementary Book Club

In book club students work together in a small group with the instructor to discuss, analyze, and respond to the reading verbally and in writing. Each unit ends with the students completing and presenting a project based on the book.

Recommended for students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.

Elementary Spanish Seminar

In this class we make learning a second language fun and interactive! The class focuses on the fundamentals of Spanish including vocabulary, grammar, and speech mechanics. Students will also be taught conversational Spanish through interactive lessons and discussions.

Recommended for students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade

Middle School Writing Class

This class focuses on the writing process of three major styles including expository, creative, and argumentative. The class also focuses on grammar, spelling, mechanics, and vocabulary.

Recommended for students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.

Middle School Math Class

In this course students focus on various levels of mathematics including foundational skills and pre-algebra. The class benefits students struggling with concepts in pre-algebra and algebra 1 basics.

Middle School Book Club

Our middle school book club focuses on two American classics. Students will do the majority of the reading outside of class. In class, the students will focus on reading comprehension, text inference, and the deeper meaning of these classics.

Middle School Spanish Seminar

Our middle school Spanish class focuses on building the fundamentals of conversational Spanish. Students will also study the basics of vocabulary, grammar, and structure.
